Tim Akin
Senior Pastor
Pastor Tim Akin answered God's call to become the Senior Pastor of FBCD in December of 2017. He believes the local Church is God's primary vehicle for accomplishing His mission in the world today. Tim and his wife, Anna, spent two years on the mission field serving with the International Mission Board before returning to the States for vocational ministry. His passion for missions and disciple-making is evident in all that he does. He is currently finishing his PhD in Systematic Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and Anna have six children.
Eli Byrd
Associate Pastor of Discipleship
Eli Byrd arrived at FBCD in the Summer of 2020. He oversees all matters of discipleship from our First Impressions Team (i.e., Guest Services), small groups, and sports ministry. He is currently working on his EdD from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Julie, have four children.
Logan Creasy
Associate Pastor of Worship & Communications
Logan came to FBCD in 2018 to serve as the Worship Pastor and oversee all of the church's communications. He is currently working on his ThM from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Melody, have four children.
David White
Executive Pastor
David retired as a partner from the prestigious accounting firm, KPMG. He entered his next season of ministry and life by joining our staff in 2019 serving as our Executive Pastor. He and his wife, Debbie, have two sons with families of their own. David and Debbie have been members of FBCD for over twenty years. He oversees all finances and facilities for our church family, and his favorite hobbies are watching action movies and spending time with family.
Lisa Black
Executive Assistant
Lisa has been a member of FBCD for over thirty years. She and her husband, Brian, have three grown children with families of their own. She currently serves as the Executive Assistant at FBCD while also teaching a young adult Sunday school class. Her favorite hobbies are reading and spending time with her granddaughter.

Phillip Morris
Kids Pastor
Phillip Morris has been at FBCD for thirteen years, ten of which he has served on staff in numerous capacities. He currently serves as our Pastor to Kids and the Director of our Go Sports Ministries. He and his wife, Tina, have three children, and in his spare time he enjoys playing disc golf.
Joan Cole
Ministry Assistant
Joan and her husband, Gregg, have been married for thirty years and members of FBCD just over twenty years. They have two daughters, and they enjoy spending time with family. She has served on staff for eleven years, and currently serves in our Kids Ministry.
Landon Moss
Student Pastor
Landon came to FBCD in 2021 as a Pastoral Intern, but he now serves as our Student Pastor. He is a graduate of Clemson University and is currently working on his MDiv at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He loves sports, traveling, and seeing the next generation know and love Jesus.
Montana Fincher
Ministry Assistant
Montana grew up at FBCD, and has served on staff for three years. She serves in our Student and Worship Arts Ministries, and is currently seeking her MDiv in biblical counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her favorite hobbies are trying different coffee shops with friends and traveling.
Taliyah Baptiste
Sports Ministry Assistant
Taliyah has been a member of FBCD for eighteen years, but has served on our staff for one year. She serves in our Sports and Communications Ministries. Her favorite hobby is photography.
Javier Lopez
Hispanic Ministry Pastor
Javier and his wife, Grace answered God’s call and came to FBCD in 2022. We have witnessed how God has moved powerfully among the Hispanic community in the Douglasville area. Pastor Javier began a Hispanic Bible study that quickly became its own vibrant Hispanic worship service in 2023. He enjoys reading and traveling, speaks three languages, and teaches virtually around the world.
Jim Cook
Director of Missions
Jim Cook has been a member of FBCD for ten years and serves on staff overseeing Missions and Facilities. He is a retired construction manager and gifted craftsman. He and his wife, Deenie, have three grown children, and in his spare time, he enjoys reading and building things.

Technical Production Pastor
Clay came to FBCD in 2015 to serve as the Technical Production Director. He oversees all AVL Production and IT for the church as well as serves in our Financial Department. He and is wife, Elizabeth, have three children.

Worship Arts Intern
Abbi joined the FBCD staff in 2021 as a Worship Arts Intern. She is currently working on her Bachelor of Music degree from Shorter University and plans to seek a graduate degree in Worship and Theology. She serves as the Student Worship Leader and assists the Worship Arts team in various ways.

Leigh has been a member of FBCD for over forty years and serves on staff exercising her gifts and passion of hospitality and cooking to serve our church family and our community. She and her husband, Keith, enjoy spending time with their six children and their grandchildren.
Don Magee
Treasurer
Don Magee is a retiree from the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist convention. He and his wife, Lou, moved to Douglasville to be near their daughter and granddaughters. He serves as the church's Treasurer, bringing many years of experience regarding ministry and finances.
